Acrylamide and Acrylate Based Hydrogel for Water Adsorption in Biodiesel

چکیده
Abstract Several countries have implemented the use of biodiesel as a diesel fuel blend. Indonesia currently implements highest percentage biodiesel, reaching 30% (B30), starting from 2020. Strict quality standards been worldwide, such ASTM D6751 (USA), EN 14214 (EU), JASO M360 (Japan), and SNI 7182:2015 (Indonesia). Prior to blending with diesel, must comply specification. One most concerning issues is water content in that easily increased due its hygroscopic nature. Currently, handling procedure at facility maintain immoderate still limited. Therefore, experiments for reducing excessive were conducted using polyacrylamide-co-potassium acrylate (pAAm-co-PA) potassium polyacrylate (PPA) hydrogels varying contact times. The adsorption capacity hydrogel best performance was also observed. Four methods carried out regeneration, i.e., drying atmospheric pressure (A), vacuum (V), combination solvent washing-atmospheric acetone (AA) ethanol (EA). results indicate PPA adsorps more than pAAm-co-PA same time. decreased 13.4% after being used seven cycles simultaneously. ethanol-drying produces recovery regeneration process, 39.24%.

Multichain amide-bonded anionic amphiphilic oligomers consisting of dodecyl acrylamide and sodium acrylate (i.e., xC₁₂AAm-yAA, where x and y represent the number of dodecyl acrylamide (C₁₂AAm) and sodium acrylate (AA) units, respectively) were synthesized via the radical oligomerization of two monomers in the presence of 2-aminoethanethiol hydrochloride. Equilibrium and dynamic surface tension,...

In this paper, the synthesis of new montmorillonite nanocomposite hydrogel (MMTNH) based on poly (acrylic acid-co-acrylamide) grafted onto starch, is described. Montmorillonite (MMT) as nanometer base, acrylic acid (AA) and acrylamide (AAm) as monomers, ammonium persulfate (APS) as an initiator, N,N-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker and starch as a biocompatible polymer were pre...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Cytotoxicity and Acute Gastrointestinal Toxicity of Bacterial Cellulose-Poly (acrylamide-sodium acrylate) Hydrogel: A Carrier for Oral Drug Delivery
Background: Preliminary safety evaluation of polymer intended to use as drug delivery carrier is essential. Methods: In this study polyacrylamide grafted bacterial cellulose (BC/AM) hydrogel was prepared by microwave irradiation initiated free radical polymerization. The synthesized hydrogel was subjected to in vitro cytotoxicity and acute gastrointestinal toxicity studies to evaluate its biolo...
متن کاملHRP-mediated polymerizations of acrylamide and sodium acrylate
Previously, we reported the horseradish peroxidase (HRP) mediated free radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate.1 The reaction medium was restricted to water/water-miscible co-solvent mixtures that solubilize both the monomer and enzyme. This paper describes HRP-mediated acrylamide polymerizations in aqueous medium with and without the addition of surfactants. Also, studies were conducted ...
